SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM
The Congress will be held at the BOLOGNA FIERE CONGRESS CENTRE, with the Pre-Congress wetlabs being held at the Veterinary School of the University of Bologna, located some 12 km from the centre of the city.
The Wetlabs will include small and large animal topics, ranging from a stem cell & PRP workshop to locking plate wetlabs. Subjects for the Pre-Congress seminars include arthroscopy, osteoarthritis and sports medicine.
There is an exciting Congress Scientific Programme comprising lectures, and specialist sessions.
There will be parallel large and small animal programmes with combined State of the Art Lectures.
Three major halls with additional smaller rooms will be employed from Thursday afternoon until Saturday evening with topics ranging from minimally invasive surgery to facial trauma, evidence based medicine to elbow replacement etc while the large animal programme contains sessions on advanced imaging, biologic therapeutics, lameness diagnosis & treatment, and joint rehabilitation.
CUISINE
The cuisine of the Emilia-Romagna region is some of the best in Italy. Handmade egg pasta and stuffed pasta, especially tortellini, are specialties of Bologna, and, of course, there is the famous spaghetti alla Bolognese. Bologna is also known for its salami and ham.
CULTURE
There will be an outstanding social programme commencing with the Welcome Reception on Thursday 16th in the fine old buildings of the University of Bologna’s School of Veterinary Medicine located in the city centre and concluding with the banquet on the Saturday at the Palazzo de’ Rossi. Bologna is the home of the oldest university in Europe founded in 1088 and has some 40 kilometres of covered walkways and is frequently referred to as the “City of Towers”.
TRAVEL
Guglielmo Marconi International Airport is directly linked to Bologna Fiere by a handy Aerobus, making transfer to the Congress Centre easy. Bologna Central Train Station is only 10 minutes from Bologna Fiere with buses regularly connecting the two. Access by car is easy from the motorways from Florence, Milan, Ancona or Padua.
